Digital eye strain or Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is the effect of prolonged use of digital devices, computer screen, tablets, and cell phones. Common symptoms include headaches, eyestrain, blurred vision, dry eyes, and neck and shoulder pain. Causes for the symptoms include poor lighting, glare on the screen, poor seating posture, improper viewing distances, uncorrected vision problems, or more likely a combination of these factors. The easiest fix is implementing the 20-20-20 rule. Take a 20-second break to view something more than 20 feet away every 20 minutes.
